The Private Label Manufacturers Association is preparing for its annual trade show in Chicago. From Sunday, Nov. 12 through Tuesday, Nov. 14, supermarkets, supercenters, drug store chains, mass merchandisers, convenience stores, online retailers, importers, exporters, wholesalers, discounters and even military exchanges will be on hand, looking for new products and identifying new suppliers.
Filling three large exhibit halls in Chicago’s Rosemont Convention Center, the PLMA show will feature more than 2,700 exhibit booths from store brand manufacturers in virtually every product category imaginable. Tens of thousands of products will include shelf stable, fresh, frozen and refrigerated food and beverages; grocery non-foods, cleaning and general merchandise; and health and beauty, personal care and OTC.
New for this year will be a special exhibition for private label housewares, which will showcase the increasingly wide range of kitchen and home products being offered by retailers under their own brands, while at the same time presenting manufacturers in these categories the opportunity to exhibit and meet a wide representation of private label buyers.
This year's show is particularly notable because private label market share has reached nearly 25% of unit sales in the United States and is expanding faster than national brands. The annual speakers and seminar series will, therefore, be focused on the latest research, news headlines and consumer trends and what their effect will be on retailers and their brands across all categories.
Utilizing more than 1 million-sq.-ft. of total floor space, PLMA’s trade show exhibitors demonstrate the vast private label capabilities of U.S. manufacturers. Hundreds of international exhibitors and pavilions also offer products from Italy, France, Spain, Denmark, Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands, Greece, Turkey, Israel, India, South Korea, Vietnam, China and Taiwan, as well as from Canada, Mexico, Ecuador, Peru, Colombia, Chile and Brazil.
Each year, PLMA’s New Product Expo provides buyers attending the show a means to help navigate the extensive assortment by putting a spotlight on the newest products and marketing concepts for store brands that are being featured by exhibitors on the trade show floor. Additionally, PLMA’s Idea Supermarket showcases store brands programs, products and packaging from more than 50 leading retailers across North America, Europe, Asia and Latin America.
The Rosemont Convention Center is 10 minutes from Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport and located within walking distance or a short shuttle bus ride away from major hotels. For information on attending or exhibiting at trade show, contact PLMA at 212-972-3131 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
