ANAHEIM, Calif. — MeriCal, a leading dietary supplement formulation and custom packaging company, has appointed Shikha Snigda as its new Innovation scientist. Snigda will work with the MeriCal research and development team.
Snigda worked as a project scientist and project coordinator for more than seven years at the University of California — Irvine. She has managed projects involving several product segments and platforms that include antioxidants, botanicals, B vitamins, mitochondrial cofactors and exercise. MeriCal was impressed with her knowledge of assessing and evaluating the latest nutritional research and her experience in the various stages of product development, including product conceptualization, formulation and innovation. She has a Ph.D. in neuroscience and pharmaceutical innovation from the University of Bradford in England.
In her new role, Shikha will report directly to Jeremy Bartos, Ph.D., who is serving as the VP of the research and development division. Shikha will focus on assisting the sales team with onsite and offsite jobs, contract designing, customer meetings and follow-ups, as well as driving the search for new and novel ingredients delivery technologies in key dietary supplement markets.
MeriCal is one of the largest marketers of private brand probiotic products in the world, providing services to retailers and nutritional supplement brands.
